The YMCA Nursery School is an EEC licensed program for children ages 2.9 – 5 years. The Nursery School provides a warm and nurturing environment where your child has a variety of opportunities to play, explore, imagine, discover, learn and grow. Our hands-on and developmentally appropriate curriculum enhances the growth of your child’s cognitive, emotional, social and physical skills, while nurturing their natural curiosity of the world around them. A typical day offers creative free play, story/circle time, music and movement, and free choice projects. During the week there are library trips, neighborhood walks, gym time, cooking and visits to the YMCA Science Room. Nutritious snacks and juice are provided.
The Nursery School is a half-day program running from 8:30 – 11:30 am during the calendar school year.
The following enrollment options are offered:
2 days $40/week
3 days $57/week
5 days $85/week
Enrollment continues throughout the school year as spaces become available. Nursery School tuition includes an Athol Area YMCA Youth Membership and a 7 week session of swimming lessons at the member’s price of $15/session. There is limited financial aid available. Please contact Megan Shaughnessy, Childcare Services Director, (978) 249-3305 x16 for information on enrollment and aid application.
