About Camp Wiyaka

Camp Wiyaka is a residential summer camp located on Sandy Pond in Richmond, New Hampshire.   It is a wonderful place for children ages 7 – 15 to spend a week (or two or five) exploring, discovering, and creating lasting friendships.

Throughout the summer we offer coed weeks as well as single gender weeks.

Our daily schedule allows children to participate in traditional camp offerings as well as choose some unique activities to design their own week.   Our waterfront is a great place to play on the shore, swim, fish, or take out a sailboat, canoe, kayak or rowboat.   There’s time for doing arts and crafts, archery, playing sports and games, learning about nature and so much more.  Trips are taken to local areas including Mt.Monadnock, Royalston Falls, and Tully Lake.

Campers live in platform tents with up to 6 other children their own age and at least one counselor.  Meals are served family style and campers share tables with their bunkmates.

Every camp day ends with a sing-along campfire and campers fall asleep to the sound of taps being played over the water.

Welcome to Camp Selah

Camp Selah in Tully, MA is a wonderful rustic setting for all sorts of old fashioned outdoor activities such as swimming, kayaking, ponding, hiking, fishing and playing in sports and games. The campers also get creative with arts and crafts, learn camp songs, and earn beads for demonstrating leadership and the YMCA’s values.  Campers learn how to sort our camp waste every day into bins: compostables, recyclables and trash.  With the help of Captain Compost Rick Innes of Clearview Composting we are able to compost and recycle at least 90% of our waste every year!  Children have the opportunity to swim in Tully Pond every day and hike Tully Mountain every week.  On Fridays there are theme days such as Safari, Pirate, and Luau with lots of fun and surprises!

Camp staff are hired and trained to provide a safe and caring atmosphere for all campers.  Our camp team is led by our year-round YMCA Y~Kids Depot Site Director and includes our year-round childcare staff and mature college students.  Our waterfront certified aquatic director is also a year-round childcare staff member and all lifeguards are YMCA trained and Red Cross certified.  All camp staff members are CORI and SORI checked.

Day camp at Camp Selah is for children entering grades 1-6.  The camp day runs from 7:45 am to 5:45 pm in the months of  July and August.  Transportation is self-provided.  Breakfast, lunch and snacks are provided free of charge.
